Or any day now anyway. They did it with a lot of help from the $100 million marketing budget from Motorola and Verizon (so Google didn’t put in anything, did they?). The Motorola Droid is our choice for best smartphone of the year. It’s also the subject of many, many flattering reviews throughout the tech and gadget publishing world. We also really like the Motorola Droid a lot for the way it leaped out of nowhere to challenge the all-powerful Apple iPhone.
Broadpoint AmTech analyst Mark McKechnie only has estimates but definitely for the quarter the Droid will have 1,000,000 units out there in people’s hands. This is good news and “you have no idea how good” news at Motorola who RBC Capital Markets analyst Mark Sue suspect would sell its units via Verizon, the Droid exclusive provider.

If Motorola did not sell a million droids,
and this is nothing but paid for hype.. who do I sue?
I really do not have much trust for Motorola ‘ethics’…

It wouldn’t sense for google to pay for advertisements. It would seem like favoritism and besides, google gives the operating system away and doesn’t make money as Droids are sold.
