Motorola has just announced three new handsets for China, the largest market in the world and one of the more profitable one for the US-based mobile phone maker.

The first one is the XT701 or better known as the Motorola Sholes Tablet. All of the previously reported specs are all there including the 5-megapixel camera, and will indeed become available on China Unicom. Next to it is the Motorola Zhiling MT710, a new phone that will beef up China Mobile’s Ophone fleet. Last, but certainly not the least, is the Motorola Zeppelin XT800 which is making its way to China Telecom. All phones feature a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen display, 5-megapixel camera, and run on Android. Except for the Motorola Sholes Tablet which was recently reported to be coming to Russia in 2010, all of these handset will be limited to the Chinese market only.
It makes you wonder though, if Motorola can come out with such handsets for China, why can’t they do the same for the rest of the world? If they did, maybe they wouldn’t be having such a hard time recovering from their faltering position in the industry.
