Apple iPhone, Portable Gaming

Want the most versatile mobile gaming platform right now? Don’t go looking for it at Sony or Nintendo coz the PSP and the DS have nothing on the iPhone 3GS. On the video above you see the iPhone 3G S running Epic Game’s Unreal Engine 3. Will this be officially available? Here’s Anandtech:

“[Epic says] they planned to make this available to licensees at some point in the near future. That’s great for end users because it means that any Unreal Engine licensee can now start playing around with making iPhone games based on the same technology. Unfortunately the recently announced, free to the public, Unreal Development Kit (UDK) is Windows only - the iPhone version isn’t included. I’d guess that at some point Epic will change that, it just makes too much sense. Doing so would enable a whole new class of iPhone game development using an extremely polished engine.”

And Epic will not stop at iPhone. It looks like mobility in the near feature will have hi-tech gaming as standard.

Yeah right & how am I supposed to freaking play it without buttons!? I will use the volume button to fire or what? lol & I’ll use the home button to crouch bwahaha!

Sell a bluetooth joypad + game compatible with the iPhone…then it might work wonders. Other than that no chance!

They use the touch screen for buttons. :) You do not need the home button or volume.
