Viliv N5 and S10 at CES

viliv-n5

Two very interesting products in the UMPC and MID categories from Viliv are going to show next year at CES. The Viliv N5 is a clamshell device with a 4.8-inch 1024 x 600 screen (look at that resolution!). It will have 3G, WiFi and GPS. The Viliv S10 “Blade” convertible netbook is going to make an appearance, too. The S10 is a convertible netbook will run Windows 7 starter. based on previous Viliv models (check out the S5), the N5 and S10 are bound to have comparable constructions with products from companies like Samsung and LG. The S10 is supposed to have come out already, priced at $500 or thereabouts. Engadget has some fine photos of the S10. We posted one after the break.

I’ve been anxiously waiting for the Viliv S10 Blade (for what feels like forever) and very disappointed overall by 2009s compliment of new netbooks and tech in general. I have a theory that the S10 may have been delayed due to the Intel platform - either political issues with the Atom in general or technical platform issues. We’ve seen very view Z550 processors in kit this year. Viliv may have been waiting for the new Intel N450 (hope so).
