There’s officially a new COWON PMP in town and it promises HD even in a plasticky package. The COWON V5HD is a Windows Ce 6.0 device with a 4.8-inch 800 x 480 LCD screen. It supports 720p videos but these, apparently, can only be shown in their glory via HDMI out considering the screen resolution. It’s a hefty portable player weighing at 197 grams with a thicset 15.7 mm body. Besides the usual video, music, image and text files, the COWON V5 HD supports T-DMB TV, RSS and games from SKT. T-DMB is optional. The 8GB will set you back $256.
