Google is making another device besides the Nexus One, in case you’ve forgotten. The hardware in question is a netbook that is supposed to run the Chrome OS, known for now as the Google Chrome Netbook. Well, the tech world has just come upon some tasty rumors purporting to be the official specs of the netbook in question.
Here’s the skinny of the rumored Chrome netbook specs:
- 10.1-inch multitouch screen (HD ready)
- Nvidia Tegra with ARM-based processor
- WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G,
- Pre-installed with Google free software and services like Maps, Google Search by Voice, Google Calendar, Google Docs, etc. (though as PC World has noted, some of these software and services are web-based and could not be pre-installed.
- 64GB SSD drive
- Google to sell Chrome netbook itself for under $300
Believable?

Hi Guy’s,
Indeed sounds like speculation to me, or a false article altogether. I’ve been tempted, in the past, to write an article like that. Just make most of it up and see who goes along with it.

Since it has 3G capability, I’d guess that the $300 is with some sort of cellular service plan. They also are cutting some costs with no third-party OS or applications.
Google’s applications are heavily integrated with the web, and are about as close to cloud computing as you can get ATM. Not having a continuous connection would make the device useless.
