Owen (ONN) has had a few brilliant outings so far in the Chinese PMP market, and they may have a contender in the electronic paper (E-Ink reader) market as well. the OWEN E1 offers a 5-inch E-Ink display (20 lines per page at 30 characters per line), which makes the E1 a smaller alternative to the Kindle, and should bring down the form factor to more portable dimensions (170 × 120 × 11.5mm).
The OWEN E1 electric paper also supports MP3, WMA and OGG as well as image files though there’s no mention anywhere that it supports colors. No pricing yet. If this is a China-only release, it will be completing with the Aigo EB6301, and the ONN E1 is much better looking by a wide margin.
