We’ve all but given on the 8GB iPhone 3G S rumor. 2009 is almost over and we have yet to receive any concrete evidence that it does exist. Sure, you could argue that there’s still 5 months left in 2010 before the 4G iPhone gets announced in June, but it just doesn’t make sense for Apple to unveil an 8GB version of a soon-to-be-phased out iPhone model. However, this latest tidbit from Germany has us thinking otherwise.
We’re not sure if it’s just a misprint or a practical joke of some sort, but what you’re looking at is the text that was printed on the box when Apfeltalk user .david received his order for a refurbished iPhone 3G. The unit inside was clearly just an iPhone 3G though. Nonetheless, the erroneous packaging has got us intrigued once again if there really is an 8GB iPhone 3G S truly in existence. We’re leaning more on this being a hoax since it’s completely out of character for Apple to be so careless as to leak out this kind of stuff, but how about you guys? What’s your take on this latest 8GB iPhone 3G S rumor?

Why would they be ‘incapable’ of producing packaging. It could be a 3G in a 3GS box. Or just some Chinese knock-off.
