We’ve looked around the sites that cover CES 2010, and despite all the smartphones and tablets–state-of-the-art devices all of them–Notion Ink’s Adam tablet really caught our eyes. We’re always on the lookout for the next step for convergence and the Pixel Qi dual mode of the tablet really impressed us. This is the future of portable devices. The dual mode is the color backlit LCD mode + low power reflective mode (which is meant for reading and perhaps should be replacing the current E-Ink technology as it is.) There’s also a third LED mode. According to the presenter at the CES show, the three official modes are as follows: auto mode (triggered by ambient light), LED and black-and-white mode. If you’re also interested on what’s inside Notion Ink’s Adam, it’s powered by Nvidia Tegra 2 and runs Android.
If I were to invest in a tablet PC this year, it will be on something like this. I’m sure Notion Ink will have the full official specs soon and the price for us. Notion Ink’s innovation, in my opinion, also gives us an idea what the Apple Tablet could possibly be. I believe Apple will not let this new innovation go by too long without their own special treatment.
We have a video for you of the device from Charbax after the break.

That’s a very boring looking “Win95″-esque desktop. I think they could have picked someting a little better. Some green, waving grasses, perhaps.
