Even before the Apple Tablet can come out of its womb, famous iPhone clone maker DigitalRise releases the S1 Slate, a cheaper tablet compared to their multitouch X9. It’s a 10.2-inch Tablet PC with WiFi, 3G, GPS, webcam, an Intel Atom processor, Intel GMA 950 GPU with a USB port, VGA connector and 4-in-1 card. It will be running Windows 7. It will not be as thin as the Apple Tablet, which is rumored to be an iPhone flattened out by a rolling pin. It looks like a well-equipped tablet PC priced at a discounted $630. Of course, you can’t be blamed for waiting for the Apple Tablet announcement, but after the iSlate has been unveiled and priced I have little doubt that you’d be looking back at what DigitalRise has to offer.
