iPhone 3.1.3 jailbreak tool sn0wbreeze is now available in v1.5.2 which addresses the issues concerning systems running on 64-bit Windows. Apart from that, file size has also been trimmed down to just 18MB, and is now much faster and more reliable.
For those not familiar with sn0wbreeze, this is the Windows counterpart of the iPhone Dev Team’s PwnageTool. It creates a custom iPhone 3.1.3 IPSW file based on an original one downloaded from the internet for iPhone and iPod Touch models running on the old bootroom.
Once you’ve gotten your iPhone 3.1.3-based device jailbroken, you can then proceed to unlock your iPhone. This, unfortunately, is limited to the current versions of blacksn0w and ultrasn0w both of which are still unable to hack baseband 05.12. Sn0wbreeze may not be as popular as Geohot’s blackra1n iphone jailbreak or the iPhone Dev Team’s PwnageTool/QuickPwn, but hey, it gets the job done, and as they say, the more the merrier, right?
