As reported two weeks ago, Digitimes claims that 5 megapixel CMOS cameras have already been ordered for the iPhone 4G. A 5 MP camera may not be a big deal for many handset owners but for the iPhone-toting crowd, it’s well-nigh revolutionary–especially if it can take videos as well. So the new 4G iPhone rumor [...]

We’ve all but given on the 8GB iPhone 3G S rumor. 2009 is almost over and we have yet to receive any concrete evidence that it does exist. Sure, you could argue that there’s still 5 months left in 2010 before the 4G iPhone gets announced in June, but it just doesn’t make sense for [...]

Apple has been caught ordering 3.2 MP cameras allegedly for the new iPhones. This is news indeed though news that only makes perfect sense. The more interesting new finding is another batch of order from Apple, this time for 5 megapixel sensors. The alleged supplier is OmniVision, a well-known supplier of CMOS sensors. The SWIVEL-CAM is both a DV and a camera, but its most salient feature is its 180-degree-rotating lens… ehm, borrowed from iRiver. I’m not sure if it will make a good point-and-shoot camera, given that the lens position looks a tad awkward, but with a price tag of $119.99 I think it’s worth a try. [...]

The Aigo MP3 F566+ is an improvement on the former MP3 F566 (without the addition sign), which only has an MP3 player without the camera and a storage capacity that starts from 128MB (it was released way back in 2006). Now with a 1.3 megapixel CMOS camera that takes up to 1280 1024-pixel photos, [...]

One unknown Chinese manufacturers that has done good lately is K-Touch. We know next to nothing about this manufacturer but they’ve just announced the C280, an 8 megapixel camera phone with 3x optical zoom. The camerais sensitive up to 1600 ISO. Presumably, it’s using a Samsung CMOS but tops the best Samsung camphone in the [...]

The T-rexon MP747-SM from Exon International (not to be confused with the oil company) claims to be the tiniest PDA phone in the world measuring 90 x 46 x 10 mm and weighing only 90g with the battery included. It also runs both Linux and Windows Mobile 6.0. This is the genuine article, the manufacturers [...]

TEKXON DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES LTD[HK] is actually saying the MX550 PMP is a 12 megapixel digicam with PMP functionality added but the fine print says it only has a 5 megapixel CMOS sensor onboard. It’s stll very impressive, though, what with the TV in/out, video recording, MP3 and MP4 playback and a ear phone thrown [...]

Hey, I’d be happy if the Yoto T I-PEN R530 only has a 3.0 megapixel camera instead of a 30 megapixel camera built-in. The pen is also an audio/ video recorder directly recording CIF 352 288 videos and playable at 15 fps AVI. For still photos, the camera can take up to 640 X [...]
