Yes it can. The reportedly Android-based RAmos W7 MID does run the Android OS. This device is a g00d 4.8-inch 800 × 480 touchscreen PMP with WiFi. It runs on a Rockchip processor and supports 1080p videos. You cannot actually play these 1080p videos on the 4.8-inch screen but there is HDMI out. [via cnet]

Venturing away from its usual device nook, the Android platform can now be spotted in this Ramos MID dubbed the W7. It features a 4.8-inch 800×480 touchscreen display, WiFi, and runs on a Rockchip processor. It also boasts of 1080p video support though it’ll probably be accessible through HDMI connection only. Likewise, while it [...]

We still know very little about the pocket-sized Android-running MID from the French company EviGroup. The teaser site is showing a curious logo and the words “truly personal computer” or to that effect, but nothing else. Everything we know comes from Pocketables and their Twittering sleuth: 5-inch touchscreen x86 CPU possibly running Windows XP WiFi, GPS, camera More at Pocketables. Updates:

The RK2808 is a new processor from Rockchip Electronics that is capable of supporting Android on a mobile phone. Android-ready processors seems to be in Rockchip’s immediate future. If you’re a regular visitor of PMP Today or have owned a cheap PMP from China, you might have heard of the rockchip processor. The company behind it [...]

It’s not so digital-frame-looking anymore. Teclast’s M66 PMP looks prettier with touch-sensitive buttons instead of a touchscreen like the original render suggest. You won’t probably regret it’s not a touchscreen given the high-definition certification. Taipower is taking its time releasing this player. What we know of the Teclast M66 follows: 5-inch LTPS (low temperature poly-silicon) RK2806 720p decoding [...]

The Teclast M66, a rather frame-looking PMP, will give users 720p in high-def goodness once it comes out. The main enabler of these 720p support is one RK2806 Rockchip. Oddly, while Teclast is more than able to come out with a sleek player like PMP like the M33, the M66 is desperately lacking in the beauty [...]

According to MP4Nation, Hacha’s new PC90 MP4 player might actually sell, hopefully soon. The PC90 has an interesting screen dimension. At 4 inches flat, it’s smaller than the 4.3-inch monsters that we’re familiar with here. According to Hacha, shaving .3 inches from the screen will make carrying a PMP a better experience and will in no [...]

ONDA has a spanking new touch screen PMP in the works. The photo above indicates an Apple-like user interface using a Macbook-style dock system. The VX525 UI will be Flash based and looks sweet enough for a little Apple-like hype. Chip manufacturer Actions (they’ve made all these iPod Touch and iPhone clones possible) will have [...]

A 3-inch touch screen player in a pretty sleek form factor will always get me interested. The Chuwi T8 offers a little more than your regular touchscreen PMP: it’s called “dual cover” technology. I am not sure if the video reviewer is touching his Chuwi correctly or maybe it’s an early firmware issue, but the [...]
