Journal du Geek has finished their review of the iRiver E50 Metal. This is a more basic PMP than its plastic big sister the iRiver E100. It has a 1.8-inch screen and plays SMV video format, which means you won’t be playing a lot of movies on the E50. Music support: MP3, FLAC, APE, WMA, [...]

It was several months ago when we heard that iRiver is going to release a brushed metal version of the E100. It does not exactly look like the E100 and in fact you will have to sacrifice screen space. But if you;re OK with having 1.8-inches to squint at and only SMV video support, you’d [...]

If you like the design of the iRver E100, you’d love the E50, which comes with a similar design but in a metal casing. The display is small at 1.8 inches and video support is minimal, in which case you might just go ahead and purchase an E100 Season 2, which plays video reasonably well. The [...]

Teac announces a set of the most generic-looking PMPs. None of these PMPs are touch screen but they do have decent audio support and token video playback. All three are around 50g and though prices have yet to be announced, expect very Oriental MSRPS for these babies.

We’ve covered a number of PMPs that resemble Shiro’s new debutantes. They are - for lack of a better word - “clones” of iPhone and iPod Touch but we are not here to judge but to inform consumers. Whether being an iPhone lookalike should keep a media player from consumer hands is debatable, what we’re [...]

Is this the latest iteration of Sony Ericsson’s W900i? The MP4—ZM3800 has a 1.8-inch TFT display, a speaker, a slot for SD cards up to 4GB in capacity [...]

The MO100 from MPIO is quite your typical mini-PMP from China with SMV video supported natively. It also plays WMA and MP3 with ID3 tag support and views JPEG and BMP. The 1.8-inch TFT only boasts 128 x 160 pixels, hardly an iPod Nano killer but it does have an FM tuner. Again, nothing [...]

Creative has ceased production of its Vision M PMP model, but it’s not too late yet for fans who miss the form factor of ZVM. A Chinese manufacturer has just come out with 2GB MP4 player with the exact same design as ZVM but only in a metal casing. We don’t expect Creative to [...]
