Charbax, the ubiquitous video tech reporter strikes again with a hands-on video of Tinnos Bluefin, a PMP, MP3 player and PDA all in one. Unfortunately the user interface is in Korean. Charbax has been our correspondent at CeBIT and has contributed quite a numerous amount of video reports at PMP Today. Here’s Charbax other dispatches about the Commodore Gravel and the lubi.

The Gajah GD4-3, GD4-5 and GD4-7 are direct descendants of the Gajah G105, which can be reasonable decribed as a derivative of the iRiver U10. The new portable media players all support AVI and WMV video files, besides being MP3 players. All three are equipped with SD cards but screen sizes differ, though the range 2.2- to 2.4-inches does not seem all that differentiated. All three will also have speakers and FM tuners.

LCD TVs are BenQ’s primary product nowadays (yes, they used to be a major player in the mobile phone industry) but now it looks like they are going mobile again as its PMV 1000 mobile LCD TV has received the Gold Award at CeBIT’s 2007 iF Design Award. No specs yet available, but it should support TiVo. By the way, it’s got some water-proofing treatment as well.

Check out this PSP from… oh I’m sorry did I say PSP, I meant PMP from Livetech. OK, so they have some flash PMP, which plays games, and has 2GB flash memory and will set you back 120 Euro, also some 3D glasses priced at 499 Euro (?!?!?), and look when the guy says “Some of our products are of our design…”.

There is also a portable game player which alongside with MP3/MP4 also plays NES games. It also comes with 2GB flash and a camera. Judging by the menu there’s tons of stuff to play around with, and the cost is 109 Euro. Nothing really new here but at least a little better then the previous two products we were shown.

Possibly one way for these small companies to progress would be concentrate on one particular line that has some decent features or a good price break and go on perfecting that, instead of creating 30 different products and hoping that each will sell a little. Anyway check out the video, and let us know what you think about that last player.

Quite a few people were waiting for the unveiling of the Gigabyte U60 UMPC and here it is. This portable is powered by 1.0Ghz VIA C7®-M processor and 768MB of RAM, runs Vista, and has controls that are the least removed from your regular desktops, and laptops. There is a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and in the bottom right corner there is a touchpad mouse.

The 6.5″ TFT screen is running 800×600 resolution, there are a couple USB port, a VGA port, Card reader, a built-in Web camera and Microphone.
As for storage, the max is 80 gigs with 1.8″ HDD. Battery life should be around 4 hours.

The big questions: Availability - it’s going into mass production in May. Price - under $1000 (which to us means very close to $1000)

PS: Enjoy some musical box digiframes, amd lightshow globe and some other randomness as our, with no doubt overworked Charbax living the last few days of CeBIT.

If you were sitting around and thinking “I really wish there were more CeBIT videos”, today is your day. Todays batch of videos will be started off with Ekon Electronics showing us their M16 Flash PMP and a touch screen phone that has a 2MP camera.

With their slogan of “We make youspecial”, I have to say that there isn’t all that much special about these two units, and hopefuly those “secret” prices are going to be pretty low, since they will probably have to be the selling points for these two products.

The Samsung SGH-F500 measures 116.4 x 50.4 x 10.7 mm and looks exactly like its dual-faced MP3 brother, the SGH-F300, with more video-centric media capabilities. It’s the first and, perhaps still, only mobile phone with DivX support. (more…)

Couple of days ago we showed you the video that our friends at generationmp3 put up, and today we bring you even more footage from CeBIT 2007. Our Charbax does not settle for a couple minutes of coverage and bring us more details on the Commodore Gravel In Pocket unit, Commodore In Home, and Gravel Personal.

Here’s some pricing and availability details that we got from the representative:

Commodore In Home system should be available in US next year for around $700 for the 80GB version and $800 for 160GB.

Gravel In Pocket became available in Europe some weeks ago, and is going for €299 ($399) there.

Gravel Personal will be available in September, we weren’t told the price but we’re guessing €399 ($529)

CommodoreWorld also has a flat fee subscription of €15 for unlimited access to certain content.

And earlier at CeBIT- the Samsung i6 PMP and NV Series ((NV7, NV10 and NV3) digital cameras won top rize at the iF Design Awards 2007. The GoldAward was given to the NV Series for user interface, functionality, color and for refined image capture. The i6 PMP is a convergence digi-cam, MP3 player and PMP. It also got good points for its 17-degree curve, giving the user an easy grip. This is Samsung subsidiary Samsung Techwin’s first Gold Award. Samsung Techwin is also in aeronautics, semiconductors and defence.
