For 799 yuan or just about $117, it’s the cheapest WiFi-enabled MID to date, cheaper than the Chuwi W3000. The Cube MID B53WIFI runs has a 4.3-inch touchscreen and runs on Linux. It plays multiple video formats including RMVB and AVI. Apparently, the Cube B53WIFI has a server multimedia search engine. Not sure what it is exactly, though, whether you’ll have to live in China to use it.

Even the Chinese cloners are steering clear of the PSP Go. Venus has a new all-around PMP that coincidentally resembles the PlayStation Portable hardware. The JXD300 supports GBA, NES games as well as various video and music files like RMVB, RM, AVI, MPG, FLV and playing DVDs and VCD files directly is not out of the question either. Oh, it’s an e-Book as well. Not much more details and no pricing yet but it’s crystal clear we probably won’t see much PSP Go cloning.

With only 2GB of storage and a 1.5-inch screen, no one would mistake Newman’s Nunu X05 PMP as anything other than a fashion statement. But what a fashion statement, if this cheap MP3 player really will look like this when it hits store shelves.

High-flying Chinese-manufacturer Aigo is willing to bet on a high-powered mobile phone that also functions as a MID. This means, it will probably have netbook functionalities with iPhonesque form factor. The photo above gives you an idea what an Aigo MID Phone. The slideout QWERTY keyboard it features is interesting in that it uses mouse buttons on both sides. It should have a 3.5-inch to 4-inch screen. A 5-inch-screen phone seems too big, so expect it to be as big as the Sophia Nani, a vaporware you should know about. An Intel Atom is likely, though let’s not discount Nvidia Tegra. I’m not sure how XP would work out on a phone but that’s what the source in China suggests. For sure, this won’t be an iPhone clone.

We’ve been waiting for one since the new Shuffle has been announced and finally, an iPod Shuffle 3G clone… just looks a little large, that’s all. OK, it looks gigantic, and I don’t care how small that lady hand is or that coin (whatever currency it is), it IS a big Shuffle even for a clone Shuffle. So what do you do? A really cheap MID has come China’s way and, hopefully, our way pretty soon. The Windows CE Chuwi W3000 will be flying off the shelves with the very decent price tag of 999 yuan, whihc makes about $146 USD. Chwi makes several storage capacities available and the GPS is optional, to our understanding, so you might only be getting a 1GB WiFi, Bluetooth, multimedia device without the GPS.

In case you’ve been wondering what OS some of those iPhone and Android clones are using, we don’t have the facts for you, but here is Lenovo’s own Android customized OMS (Open Mobile System) mobile OS, which the OPhone O1 (first in the oPhone line, we presume) is running. Now, we hope Chinese cloners and smartphone makers take a leaf from Lenovo’s effort, and please don’t start comparing the OPhone with these other iPhone clones. Undoubtedly still an iPhone clone but the O1 hardware is pretty unique.

There will be two  oPhone O1 versions, a 3G phone with a 5MP camera and an EDGE phone with a 3.2MP camera. The Lenovo oPhone O1 is exclusive to China Mobile.

According to the Danish manufacturer ONN (also Owen), the iPod Nano reached the peak of its popularity at second-gen and of course ONN wants some of that popular to resurface as it introduced the ONN V2, successor of the ONN V1, and an iPod Nano 2G wannabe. Besides the appearance, the V2 measures 82 × 42 × 6.8mm, which you must admit comes very close to being identitical with Nano 2G. The V2, though, has AVI video support, which is like the Nano 4G. On top of video support, the V2 has a built-in FM tuner and e-Book functionality. It’s probably cheap, too, but we’ll wait for the price announcement before recommending it.

The 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen PMP is from HOTT’s Le Touch series. Nothing extraordinary here but I thought you’d find the Zune-like formfactor and the brushed metal worthy of consideration. It plays RMVB, RM, AVI, ASF, FLV, MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, FLAC, AAC. It has G-sensor and TV out, plus a one-click full-screen function. No price yet. In the Chinese original, the brand is Hong Teng, which they thought fit to translate as HOTT in English. Also, if you’ve noticed the HT763 free of logo or any branding. Are they in two minds which one–Chinese or English–they should go with?

We told you once that the shiny Newsmy XO MP3 player could’ve been made of mithril. We’re wrong because the device is made of more magical stuff than mithril. Newsmy has now dubbed it as the thinnest MP4 player ever at 5mm, thinner even than that Reachgood PMP and slightly thicker than this thin MP3 player. The Newsmy XO, however, plays AVI video files on its 1.5-inch color OLED display. Besides the usual MP3 and WMA files, FLAC and APE lossless get support. It also has a built-in FM tuner and receiver. Newsmy has priced the 2GB XO at 299 yuan or around $44 (cheap MP3?) but still refused to tell us what strange material they used for it (OK, they say it’s high-density aluminum but I don’t believe them).
