It also makes us wish RAmos has sent us an official demo video. If take a look at the previous model, this PMP has awesome written all over it: 1080p HD video support and a ton of supported video files that’ll make iPod owners so jealous. The new RK2806chipset should make viewing these video files an even more pleasurable activity. The 4.3-inch screen supports 800 x 480 pixels. No price on stores yet.

We bring to you once more another dirt-cheap PMP from China. Yinlips is becoming a popular brand here at PMP Today. If this company keeps churning out interesting-looking devices like the Phantom PMP and mini projector and price them cheaply, we’d also keep on posting about their products. The Yinlips YDP308 is an under-$100 PMP with a 3-inch screen, format support that is the envy of the iPod and a 7.5mm thickness. The form factor on this one will not shame you, even among your iPod or iPhone-owning friends. The only downside is the low-capacity 4GB built-in storage. You can do much with that, not unless it supports SD cards, which isn’t mentioned.

Multimedia formats supported
video: AVI, RM, RMVB, FLV at 30fps
audio: MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, FLAC
The YDP308 plays 7 hours of music and 2 hours of video
Price: $82

It took a little while for an iPod Nano 4G knock-off to come out. The iPod Nano 5G, though, is another story. Chinagrabber just informed me they have a a Nano 5G clone that looks pretty close to the real thing. Is it worth buying? We’re not sure as they did not specify camera functionality. I’m assuming the 1.3 MP camera can shoot videos and static images. The screen size is another disappointing factor as it takes a mere half of the area of the face. It’s 2.4 inches diagonal length gives us an idea how big the Nono is (read on for the illuminating photo). It’s also a pretty chunky knock-off. But for $55 you already get a 4GB PMP (it has an FM tuner and plays AVI, MP4, RMVB), amazing cheap. Click on the link below for the complete specs. Honestly, the 5G clone looks better than this Nano 4G clone.

The Wolfson-chip, MVA-touchscreen, 1080p HD PMP that goes by the name of Teclast T51 has got us curious since we laid our sight on it on the Web. I wonder why online retailers are so eager to sell this model, preferring it in their inventory above every other PMP model. The video below might help. It’s not a bona fide iPhone clone. It’s actually quite a chunky, brick-lick device. The screen is bigger than iPhone’s at 4.3 inches. With the Teclast T51, you get a device focusing more on music and video. Even the game support is quite anemic. Ownta is selling an 8GB version for $150. Now, I’m not recommending the Teclast T51 but I know many of you have bought one. If you have a review or complaint about the product, feel free to use the comments area. If you have a longer review, PMP Today can publish it for you and give you full credit.

The photo above suggests that the Yinlips YDP800 can project a bigger image of your gaming screen. If this PMP does support it, I’d be lining up to get myself one. We’re not getting a lot of details of this mini Projector and MP4 player from IMP3. They say it can project up to 12 lumens and play 64-bit games. Wireless control is also supported. The YDP800’s Alibaba page, however, says only 32-bit gaming support and emulation for NES, GBA, GB, GBC, SMC, SFC. Alibaba also specifies an LCOS projector that supports 80 inches maximum projection. Other specs: 3.5-inch LCD display, infrared remote and infrared handheld wireless control, support for 16GB microSD. Yinlips will be the first manufacturer to make a mini projector portable player available to the public. I’m not surprised. Oh, btw, the YDP800 weighs all of 300g.

The iToos M8 supports 1080p or full-HD as they call it in China. It will have an HDMI port of course, so that one can connect it to a bigger LCD TV to enjoy that higher resolution as the 5-inch LCD screen on the M8 can hardly play 1920 x 1080 pixels. Video codec support is generous: H.263/H.264, MKV, RM, RMVB, RV8 / 9, MPEG4/ASP, VOB, DAT, ASF, WMV, MPEG1 / 2 and so is music support: MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV, APE, FLAC, MP2, RA, AAC and includes LRC lyrics display support.
With the V7, the SmartQ V5 will introduce the V series internet tablets to consumers in China and, hopefully, around the world. With an 600 MHz ARM11 processor, adequate 256MB DDR2 RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 EDR and OTG, the SmartQ V5 is just a few inches short of the SmartQ V7. It’s practically the same MID, except the smaller 4.3-inch touchscreen LCD on the more pocket-friendly V5. The V5 shouldn’t be mistaken to the sleeker looking SmartQ 5 WiFi PMP. This one is 1080p high-def device with HDMI out, boasting 1920 × 1080 video resolution. The SmartQ V5 also looks easy to produce in quantity and should be available in an affordable retail price.

Note: can’t help but imagine SmartQ’s latest devices with a more powerful still-Arm-based Qualcomm Snapdragon processor or with an Intel Atom processor platform like Menlow or Moorestown.

Multimedia Internet devices are invading the Chinese market and SmartQ is one brand name to watch out for. The SmartQ V7 Internet Tablet is one of the more intriguing MID designs out there, though we will not be surprised if this were only a relabel of the SmartQ 7. They sure look the same. The V7 will follow the SmartQ V5, which we’ll post about later and which will therefore make the SmartQ V series of internet tablets.. As for the V7, it will be 1080p full high-def capable with HDMI out like the V5. It has a 7-inch LCD touchscreen, WiFi, Bluetooth and OTG. It is powered by an Arm 11 processor (how difficult is it to give this one a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor?) and will have 256MB of RAM. It’s obviously a stylus touchscreen device with. We’ll report more details about the V7 once it comes. For now, we have another photo after the break.

We’re not entirely sure what Teclast means by the T51 being an audiophile’s PMP. We’ve always assumed every PMP maker makes sound quality one of the top priorities. But here goes Teclast claiming the T51 should appeal better to real audiophiles than other PMPs in the market (should we call the T51 an mp3 player plus video?). To be more specific, Wolfson audio chips are now becoming legends as a cheap solution for better sound quality. Hopefully, the Wolfson WM8740 inside the T51 proves will do well.

On top of everything mentioned, the T51 supports 1080p HD videos. The 3.5-inch TFT LCD screen supports 480 x 360 resolution, so I suppose the T51 is not exactly a videophile’s PMP, though there’s always HDMI out. It can play an army of video and music codecs, too, which is one of the reasons we are always considering these Chinese MP4 players. The other reason is price: for an 8GB 1080p HDMI out player with a spanking wolfson chip, you will only have to shell out $155. Not exactly cheap, but it’s damn reasonable.
