The latest buzz around the net is that it could be launched in the next couple of weeks (most likely at CTIA) and will actually debut as the Motorola i1. We also now know that this Android iDen phone will feature a 3.1-inch 320×480 touchscreen, 3-megapixel AF camera with LED flash, WiFi (b/g), Bluetooth, A-GPS, 2.5mm jack, accelerometer, proximity sensor, and MotoBLUR complete with Flash Lite v3.1. It’ll come bundled with a corporate email client with ActiveSync support as well as a barcode scanner, document viewer and MOTONAV navigation app. We’re not sure yet of its price or when and where this new Motorola iDEN phone will exactly become available, but one thing’s for certain though, this will definitely be a treat for iDEN users hoping to get some piece of the Android action.

Besides Android 1.4, the FirstView PC607V also runs Windows CE. It’s just one of the cheap Android tablets there at CeBIT, according to Engadget reporter Joanna Stern. While Joanna never really took the time to have a good look at them cheap Android Tablets, we gather that the FirstView tablet costs only $95 and sports a resistive touchscreen that supports finger-input. Forsa and Huawei were also there with their own cheap Android tablets. Engadget has a hands-on video of the FirstView tablet. For a measly $95, imagine having a WiFi-enabled browsing device in your hands. Not bad at all, especially if it supports a host of video codecs.

I’m not such a big fan of online shopping, but if I were, then I’d certainly find this app very useful. In a nutshell, Google Shopper turns any Android phone into a barcode scanner that will automatically provide you with all the necessary info regarding a product including where it’s available and its price. It can also scan cover art on CDs, DVDs, books, and even video games. Google Shopper is available now at the Android Market and is compatible with all version of Android.

Jay Sullivan, Mozilla’s Vice President, proudly shares that their nearing the finish line on their work for the Android version with a target release date set for the end of this year. He didn’t mention any specific date, but did go on to say that they’re also pretty excited about MeeGo, the new mobile OS that both Nokia and Intel will be working on.

As far as Windows Mobile is concerned, they do have an Alpha version for Windows Mobile 6.xx already but its future is now uncertain with the launch of Microsoft’s new mobile OS, Windows Phone 7. They’re still deciding whether to continue work on this or scrap it and just focus on the new OS, but with a new IE browser also debuting on Windows Phone 7, FireFox Mobile might be in for a big challenge here.

Kicking things off at MWC, Sony Ericsson has just announced 3 new handsets – the X10 mini, X10 mini pro, and Vivaz pro. If the names sound familiar, that’s because these new touchscreen goodies are based on existing models already, the Xperia X10 Android phone, and the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Symbian phone.

With the exception of the QWERTY keypad found on the mini X10 mini pro, both new iterations of the X10 sport the same features. Each one comes with 2.55-inch QVGA touchscreen, 5-megapixel AF camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, 600Mhz processor, 3.5mm jack, quad-band GSM/EDGE, UMTS HSPA connectivity, A-GPS, Google Maps, and runs on Android 1.6 complete with Timescape. The X10 mini pro will only be available in either black or red while the X10 mini will be released pearl white, lime, and silver in addition to the mentioned colored variations.

The Vivaz pro, meanwhile, is an identical twin of its namesake but ups the ante with a slide out QWERTY keypad. It still boasts of a 3.2-inch 16:9 ratio touchscreen, 720p HD video recording, WiFi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and Symbian S60 as its OS. The Vivaz Pro will be available in black and white iterations, and will ship with an 8GB microSD card as part of the package. Its camera, however, got downgraded to just 5.1-megapixels as opposed to the 8.1-megapixel shooter found on the recently announced Vivaz. It’s a bit of a downer, but not that much of a deal breaker.

No word yet on the pricing of these new Sony Ericsson handsets, but it was disclosed that all three are slated to be released in Q2 in select markets.
