PXP-2000 MP5 Player Review by Androgynous Male

A PSP Go clone that goes for only $90? You can bet your knickers there’s going to be a catch. First of all, the clone is bigger, significantly bigger.

pxp-2000-vs-psp-go

Second, the plastic just isn’t the same. The buttons on the PXP-2000 are clickety, the slide-out action lacking in snap. Screen resolution and screen size seem OK, but don’t bothre expecting a few pre-loaded 64-bit Nintendo games. Sure the makers of the PXP-2000 leave a lot to be desired in terms of construction but did TweeterMan287 actually notice the amount of pre-loaded games? And what about that surprisingly functional joystick? Read on for the video review (watch out for the guy in the hockey mask, he don’t read books).

The Sony Ericsson online shop in the UK has just put up a pre-order page for the XPERIA X10, and lists it as launching in February 2010.This is the most specific launch date we’ve got at the moment which could also mean that it will be released around the same time as well elsewhere (cross your fingers guys). The SciPhone N21 has been available for a month now but we have yet to come across a video of the Android-based SciPhone. Beareyes, has an unboxing going on in their site. xpPhone now also to Run Windows 7

ITG has made a good thing with the xpPhone. It may not sell like the iPhone but the hard cold fact that it will run Windows XP when it comes out is enough to make you want to talk about it with almost anyone you meet. Yeah, it’s a phone but it’s a computer, too, a real one, with Windows XP. Got it? The makers are calling the xpPhone a breakthrough (cellphone, GPS, notebook), and with good reason. For a phone, the AMD AMD Super Mobile CPU and 1GB RAM (along with WiFi, 3G,5MP camera) may be a little too much, but what if it’s all under a pretty sleek hadrware and a price tag that though considerable will not exactly break the bank. Now Pocketables has it on good authority (apparently from the horse’s mouth) that ITG plans to release several versions–up to 7 inches in screen size and, possibly, a Windows 7 flavor. There will also be HDD versions (we believed they’d only come out with SSD ones) The price, starting at $500, will top at $700. Read on for the specs and options of the xpPhone.

Palm Pre webOS 1.3.1 update hits the scene, No iTunes sync fix included

Sat, Nov 14, 2009

webos-131Palm has just released webOS 1.3.1 update for the Palm Pre, but unlike their webOS 1.2.1, doesn’t come with a fix to address the Apple disabled iTunes syncing. Have they given up the fight? We don’t exactly know, but what we’re certain of is that webOS 1.3.1 does come with a lot of goodies in the bag. With this latest webOS firmware installed on your Palm Pre, you can now sync Yahoo! contacts and calendar in Synergy, watch widescreen videos in widescreen mode by default, forward and copy SMS/MMS, use ringtones for new message alerts, and a bunch of other treats and bug fixes. Sure, the lack of iTunes syncing maybe a bit of a downer, but from what’s been disclosed, it’s look like a pretty loaded firmware update that every Palm Pre owner out there should definitely download.

BlackBerry App World ditching PayPal for Carrier Billing in 2010, New BlackBerry Theme Studio in the works

Sat, Nov 14, 2009

BlackBerry App WorldOne thing I seriously don’t like with the BlackBerry App World is that it’s limited to PayPal account owners only. It’s a prerequisite before you can start downloading apps from the App World, which to be honest, is quite a hassle. Fortunately though, RIM big boss Jim Balsillies has just announced that their planning to ditch this method and further simplify it via carrier billing. Through this new scheme, the paid apps you download will be incorporated into your carrier’s monthly cell phone billing. It’s quite an ingenious approach and is a big step in making the BlackBerry App World more accessible to the users across the globe.

A new BlackBerry Theme Studio was also revealed to be in the works which will allow BlackBerry owners the ability to further customize the BlackBerry UI to their liking. All of these will be coming in 2010 but as to when it will specifically happen, it’s still anybody’s guess. Nonetheless, these are moves in the right direction which will, no doubt, make BlackBerry phones more appealing to consumers, and in turn, help RIM rake in more sales to improve on their already impressive smartphone market share.

The Apple iTablet (aka Macbook Touch, Macbook Nano Touch or whatever else you may call it) is a pretty exciting prospect, but at the end of the day, is still just a rumor. This sexy Vega tablet PC from ICD (Innovative Converged Devices), fortunately, isn’t.

ICD Vega Android 2.0, Nvidia Tegra Tablet

The Vega tablet runs on the latest Android 2.0 Eclair and packs an Nvidia Tegra processor under the hood. It also boasts of 1.3-megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, 3G connectivity, a microSD card for additional storage, 3.5mm jack, accelerometer, and a magnetic dock. The model above is features a 15.6-inch touchscreen, but there is a smaller 7-inch version as well.

It only comes with a resistive touchscreen though and lacks GPS, but its other specs should more or less make up for these minor drawbacks. No word on its pricing or availability yet, but rest assured, we’ll keep you guys posted once we get a hold of the necessary info.
