As we had predicted, the JXD A30 will only set you back a little over $100. With the 7-inch screen, you may kistake this PMP as another one of those tablet computers everyone’s been talkng about. The lack of WiFi, though, makes the JXD A30 a PMP with limited features. It plays a host of [...]

This just in as far as we can tell: iRiver has announced a new MKV-supporting touchscreen PMP. Dubbed the iRiver Smart HD, it’s a 3.5-inch 480 x 320 multitouch-(yes, multitouch-) screen with MKV HD video support. This PMP was previously announced as iRiver K1 last year but apparently iRiver has bigger plans for it. We’re not [...]

We weren’t sure Viliv was going to announce much more than netbooks and UMPCs at CES 2010. The Korean company has a penchant for innovation, interesting design and using the best hardware available., which makes the HD5 a truly interesting PMP for us. It has a 5-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen LCD, runs on Windows [...]

Finally, one of the most popular Transformers has a PMP named after him. After Rodimus Prime, Alphatrion and Megatron, Ainol has released a cute but very able PMP dubbed V6000HDK or Bumblebee. Some translators give you the name Hornet but the photo above leaves little doubt what Ainol is calling this HD player. The

Yet another 1080p HD PMP from China. Teclast isn’t exactly an unknown quantity for us. The C510HD is the first 1080p from the company we’ve heard about. It has a 5-inch touchscreen with a 800 × 480-pixels resolution. The chassis is metal as well and Ownta says you can squeeze 6 hours of video on [...]

After a Rodimus Prime PMP, Ainol has released Alphatrion. I’m not a big follower of the Transformers, but here’s the Wikipedia description of Alpha Trion: Alpha Trion is the name of several fictional characters in the various Transformers universes. All versions of Alpha Trion are depicted as ancient mechanoids with a link to Optimus Prime. Sounds fairly [...]

I’m not sure what they’d be calling this but the RAmos T10 was also known as iKiss. The T10, which got its own webpage, was a big deal to RAmos, though we’re not sure it was a big deal for consumers as well. Hoping that features will help, the RAmos T11 has a touchscreen UI [...]

The claim by Chinese PMP maker OPPO hit us with a little shock to the system. China has never made high-def touchscreen PMPs before? I guess no matter how the rendered photos suggest touchscreen, it isn’t touchscreen when there’s no touchscreen. So we’ll take this announcement giving the benefit of the doubt to the new [...]

It’s not so digital-frame-looking anymore. Teclast’s M66 PMP looks prettier with touch-sensitive buttons instead of a touchscreen like the original render suggest. You won’t probably regret it’s not a touchscreen given the high-definition certification. Taipower is taking its time releasing this player. What we know of the Teclast M66 follows: 5-inch LTPS (low temperature poly-silicon) RK2806 720p decoding [...]

Ooh, a PMP powered with Texas Instrument’s DaVinci chip, we’ve seen quite a few of that. We’ve seen the RAmos T10 before too, also known as iKiss. The iKiss should play HD videos on its 4.3-inch 800 x 480 screen. It’s not a touchscreen like the RAmos T9 and T8. It plays MKV, WMV, XVID, [...]
